Located in Fort Greene at 78 Rockwell Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11217 with 223 Google Reviews averaging 4.6 out of 5 stars as of 01-Feb-2023.

Tall ceilings, exposed brick walls, rustic wooden tables, and a contemporary white aesthetic distinguish Coffee Project as a unique cafe. The finishing touch is a neon light installation that says, “COFFEE made me do it,” on the interior wall.

What distinguishes it, you might wonder? It is the only Specialty Coffee Association (SCA)-certified Premium Training Center in the region.

Chi Sum Ngai and Kaleena Teoh, the co-founders of Coffee Project New York, left their jobs in 2015 to pursue their passion project of opening a coffee shop in New York City. After seven years, five additional coffee shops, and tens of thousands of coffees, their company has grown to include roasting, wholesale, and education.

Their coffee is excellent, and quality is most definitely assured. Their roasting team creates roast profiles that highlight each coffee’s distinctive story with diligence, quality control, and careful sampling under the direction of Head Roaster Chi Sum Ngai.

They also sell coffee in bags for market price, in various flavors, including single origin, house blend espresso, and drip. Their roastery provides roaster training courses and global retail and national wholesale sales. There are various croissants, jelly donuts, and cakes available as well.

Most customers work on their laptops on weekday mornings and afternoons. If you’re looking for somewhere to sit down and plan to use your laptop that day, the atmosphere here is very work-like, with their WiFi working pretty fast and lots of seating.

They have different branches in New York: they have one in Fort Greene in Brooklyn. They also have one at East Village (Manhattan), Chelsea (Manhattan), and Long Island City (The CPNY “Academy”), where they conduct their classes.
