The first Sweetwaters was established by Wei and Lisa Bee in downtown Ann Arbor, close to their alma mater, The University of Michigan, in 1993. Sweetwaters was created and brought to life thanks to their love of food, drink, and creative energy. The remarkable outcome is a coffee shop that honors traditional café fare and globally inspired coffees and teas in a traditional and welcoming setting—just like Wei and Lisa.

Thankfully, a cafe with a great story and reputation and plenty of room and tables for using a laptop is also in Brooklyn! On weekdays, Sweetwaters Park Slope is bright, quiet, and conveniently located near St. Marks on Fifth Avenue.

There are numerous outlets where you can plug in your charger, and WiFi is free and fast. Additionally, paintings of Park Slope and other Brooklyn neighborhoods by regional artists adorn the walls.

There are options for espresso, teas, coffees, and rich shakes on the menu, which is pretty extensive. Various baked goods are available, including cake, cupcakes, macarons, and bagel sandwiches.

It boasts authentic premium/quality ingredients, delectable coffee and tea with international influences, decadent sweets and savories, a community-oriented and locally owned atmosphere, an immaculate and homey feel, excellent guest service, and highly amicable and approachable owners.

They have an excellent space to work in. However, make sure to bring your vaccination card; they’ll let you order without it. Still, they are cautious with the seating due to the recent rise in cases.

According to its reviews at restaurantju.com, their staffs are tremendous and accommodating that they greet you immediately as soon as you enter the cafe. The baristas would bring your food/drink to your table when you dine in.

The pastries are fantastic, and there are lots of options in terms of food! If you ever find yourself in the area, it is heartily recommended to stop by this hidden gem.
